If you call yourself a Trekkie, you eventually know what LCARS is. This shortening means
Library Computer Access and Retrieval System,
Sounds like techno babble, but it's just the term for the interface used to get access to several parts of the computers of federation space ships (first seen in The Next
Generation).
The LCARS AudioPlayer imitates this LCARS display design visually.
But included is not just the LCARS design, also interfaces of other species known from StarTrek
are included. These are for the moment klingon,
romulan and cardassian interfaces. Additionally there is a classic Federation (known from the movies I to VI) interface. More will follow. You can freely decide which interface you want to use.
Whilest playing, the LCARS AudioPlayer can show different visualizations. This way the interface looks more active than others. For example there is a typical spectra visualization but also DirectX
visualizations with heavy blur graphics.
Other Features are multiple playlists to prevent searching for your audio files every time you want to play them, a integrated CD player and the ability to edit the ID tags of MP3s. A "Reduced
Interface" allows to minimize the player to a minimal but usable size. So you can work whilest playing your favorite music in background.
